Webinar: Eleanor Roosevelt Series: Learning from Data Breaches

Watch Now

Eleanor Roosevelt once stated that you should "learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself". This quote resonates with us as we believe that you can learn from every personal data breach that has occurred, regardless of how large or small it is. Every few months we will host a lunch and learn webinar where the focus will be learning from data breaches that have hit the news in the UK and abroad.

Our 4th episode will focus on Tuckers Solicitors LLP's £98,000 fine issued in February 2022 in relation to their response to a ransomware attack. We will also review Meta's (Facebook) €17m fine issued by the Irish Data Protection Commission on 15th March following an inquiry into a series of 12 data breach notifications it received during a 6-month period.

We will delve into the stories and:

  • Describe the breach.
  • Describe the regulator's findings.
  • Identify the key learning points.

There will be ample time for you to ask questions, or even share your point of view on these breaches. As with all the Databasix UK webinars it will be recorded, so if you are unable to attend you can catch up later, at a date and time that is suitable to you. We hope that you are able to Kellie.

The information and remarks provided in this article represent insight and guidance for best practice which is correct or valid or appropriate at time of publication.
