Webinar: Eleanor Roosevelt Series: Learning from Data Breaches

Watch Now

Eleanor Roosevelt once stated that you should "learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself". This quote resonates with us as we believe that you can learn from every personal data breach that has occurred, regardless of how large or small it is. Every two months we will host a lunch and learn webinar where the focus will be learning from data breaches that have hit the news in the UK and abroad.

Our 3rd episode will focus on the Mermaid's £25,000 fine issued in July 2021. We will also review the German company that was fined €65,000 because it used outdated software on its website. We will also briefly discuss the potential €746 million fine that the Regulator in Luxembourg is planning to issue Amazon claiming that its processing "of personal data did not comply with EU GDPR". We will delve into the stories and

  • Describe the breach.
  • Describe the regulator's findings.
  • Identify the key learning points.
The information and remarks provided in this article represent insight and guidance for best practice which is correct or valid or appropriate at time of publication.
